Siparid - Traditional

"A pillar of flame licked into the blackened, cloudy night sky, casting a dull, sinister, sanguine glow over the verdant lands of the Patkani. The city of Plodnograd was at a stage beyond conflagration. The fire ceased to exist as a simple fire and seemed to achieve a sort of wild sentience, the whirlwind of flame picking across the city's streets and obliterating everything in its path.

The cihadi cheered on the firestorm, as though the Lord had summoned an efreet to burn this capitol of blasphemy clean, but the Siparid soldiers took no delight in the spectacle. If anything, they seethed with its preternatural energy. To the human cihadi troops, Plodnograd was a bastion of villainy, the central source of the enemy's power, but perhaps the Siparids were the first of us to see true wisdom.

The Siparids had led the charge into the city to take its arsenal. They had taken most of the day's casualties with barely a flinch. In battle, it seemed that not blood but something colder, more methodical flowed through their veins. Yet in the aftermath, they did not celebrate. The closest thing they could manage was to sharpen their new steel swords and await the following days.
